The RISD Council of
PTAs Scholarship Committee is proud to
announce JJ
Pearce recipients for 2008.
Blixa Markham
has been chosen as one of three seniors from across the
district to receive a
Coca-Cola funded scholarship
for a two year school.
Anne Frey, Josh
Ordiway and
Zachary Sutton
are receiving the
Dr. JJ Pearce Memorial
Scholarship.
Dr. Pearce was the
superintendent of the RISD from 1946 until 1977
The Council’s annual Used Book
Fair provides the funding for these scholarships.
Daniel Shnider
and Abigail
Zapote are receiving scholarships from
the Coca-Cola Bottling Company
of North Texas Excellence in Education Funds.
Pearce teacher,
Angie McClary,
is one of six teachers across the district receiving a
teacher scholarship sponsored
by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for continuing
education.

Attention all Junior and Sophomore members of
National Honor Society. Elections for Officers
for 2008-09 will be held on Wednesday, May 21.
A meeting to see the candidates and listen to
speeches will be held at 4:15 p.m. on May 21 in
Room A209. If you are not able to attend this
meeting, you may also meet the candidates at
lunches on May 22 and vote anytime during the
day on Thursday, May 22 outside of Room A209.
Please remember these two important days of May
21 and
May 22 to cast your vote for new NHS
Officers.
