Mustangs Debut at No. 5
The
Pearce Mustangs debuted at No. 5 in the initial 2008
State High School Tennis Rankings last week. The
Mustangs are off to a strong 6-1 start in the fall
season and look forward to tough district opening
match with rival, No. 1 ranked Highland Park on Sept
16th, 4 pm at Pearce.
In
action last week, Pearce took on cross town rival
Richardson High and soundly took care of business by
whipping the Eagles 19-0. A solid performance by
the Men’s Doubles Team of Matt Steiss and Jeffrey
Stulmaker turned out to be the best match of the day
ending in a 7-5 tie break win.
Last Friday, the Varsity traveled to Lake Highlands
where the Mustangs thumped the Wildcats 18-1 in
non-district action.
Don’t forget to come out on the 16th,
root for the Mustangs and see two of the top teams
in the state clash on the court.

Our school will get the recognition it
deserves!
Simply go to
the PTA website at
www.jjpearcepta.org
and click on 'Volunteer Hours'. You can get to this
website quickly from the link at the top of this

Volunteer Hours include attending meetings, baking, and
helping with any school event—anything that you or your

does
for Pearce that does not result in a grade. Always
include 15 minutes driving time to and from school—and
keep track
of
the time you spend running errands on behalf of a school
event. You may record your hours in a combined total
and enter
a
general description of your activities.
If
you signed in at the event, those hours have already
been submitted and should not be duplicated.
