Come to the Pearce Kick-Off Cookout (always fun) and in addition to seeing all the great groups at Pearce (including the first time out for Forte’ 08-09), enjoy a new feature presented by the choir- a Dunking Booth. We are raising money for our Italy Tour in the spring of 09 and you can help by plopping down the bucks for a chance to dunk your favorite teacher or coach. What a deal! Don’t miss it.

Then on August 30^th get some more great deals at the Parking Lot Sale and Car Wash! Come on over to the South end of campus from 8AM to 3PM on Saturday to search for treasures and come away with a squeaky car. This is going to be GIANT! See you there!

everyone's invited - annual Pearce Athletic Booster Club Kick-off Cookout

The entire Pearce community is invited to "Kick off" the new school year with a hot dog cookout on Wednesday, August 27th from 6:00-8:00 at Pearce on Senior Way. This is your chance to purchase all of the new Pearce Spirit Wear, meet the Football and Volleyball teams, and see performances by Pearce's award winning Cheerleaders, Pacesetters, Band AND our newest spirit group - The Mustang Stampede, a country-western dance group. And for even more fun, The WOLF 99.5 will have a live remote from our cookout.

Don't miss out on the newest spirit wear items!! We have great new T-shirts, Hoodies, Flip Flops, Women's and Men's Polos, and much more. We will be selling during registration on August 11th, August 14th, and August 15th! An Important Word About DIRECTORY INFORMATION

Parents, when completing the DIRECTORY INFORMATION card you receive in your child’s registration packet, please read the instructions carefully! Failing to check the boxes accurately can result in your child’s exclusion from a variety of school activities and services. In order for your child’s name and photo to appear in the directory section of the yearbook, you MUST release his name, photograph and grade level for RISD School Sponsored Purposes. Every year we have broken-hearted students and disappointed parents who did not realize that by failing to turn in a Directory Information card, or by failing to complete it accurately, they were being excluded from the portrait section of the yearbook – don’t be among them!

The Mustang Mum Store needs you! Have fun, be creative and meet new people. The Mustang Mum Store is located at 1465 W. Campbell Road, on the southeast corner of Coit and Campbell between Run On and Richardson Bike Mart.

The theme for this year's Reflections contest is "WOW"... Hopefully on your summer trips, you have had the chance to thing about what you can use for your entry in photography, art, literature, music composition or dance choreography. More information to come...

Our school will get the recognition it deserves! Simply go to the PTA website at www.jjpearcepta.org and click on 'Volunteer Hours'. You can get to this website quickly from the link at the top of this enewsletter. OR email your name, the dates and hours you worked, and the activity to one of the email addresses below.

Volunteer Hours include attending meetings, baking, and helping with any school event—anything that you or your student

does for Pearce that does not result in a grade. Always include 15 minutes driving time to and from school—and keep track

of the time you spend running errands on behalf of a school event. You may record your hours in a combined total and enter
