(literally!)
My husband Jeff and I both attended JJP. Jeff was class
of '75 and I was class of '77. We were dating but
neither of us
attended Homecoming because we both had to
work (Grand Junction Pizza at Arapaho & Coit - the place
to be in the day!).
All three of our children attended JJP and they are all
in college right now. They were all very involved
with homecoming .

I
remember two years ago, the school's first step team,
performed at the pep rally!
We got
a great response from the students. It felt great!

I don't
have any good homecoming stories, but I've got a couple
good Pearce/Richardson game stories. I remember that
game
being a bigger deal to us than Homecoming. Any
1980's-ish grads remember a big M (the funky one that
used to be Pearce's logo) burned into the Eagle/Mustang
field??? What about the 1983 Richardson game 16-14. The
first time Pearce
ever
beat Richardson??? Chris Shepherd scored the last second
points to win. This has nothing to do with anything, but
who
remembers the Rolling Stones "lips" on the wall of the
"smoker's lounge"?? or Alan Cheshker running over the
band
director in the athletics lot?? Kim Kennedy Wells

What do
I remember about attending J.J. Pearce High School in
the early 1970's?
The SW
corner of Coit and Campbell was open farm land and
cattle grazed there! Also,
the
traffic was so light, they used to let us park on Coit
Road right in front of the school.
David Fyffe Class of ' 74
David is the father of Lindsay '07 and Ryan '10
I don't remember ever winning our
Homecoming game, but it didn't matter because we always
had a great time!
The Homecoming Dance was right after the
football game, so you went home after the game to change
and wait for your date to pick you up. We
didn't get to the dance until 11, but at least it wasn't
over until 1:00 am.
When did it change to a whole weekend
long event? Jennifer Austin Hurst Class of '75

We all
got dressed up for the game, Decorated our cars, went in
Caravan to the stadium for the game.
Then
after the game we came home and changed into our dance
clothes for the homecoming dance.
The
blue blazer, outfit is the game outfit, ( cute huh !!)
and then the flower with ruffle dress is the dance
dress.
We
also had REAL MUMS that is a rose in the center of my
mum.

The Class of 1987 was selected out of
400 schools across the nation to be the featured class
for High School Reunion 4.
We taped the show in May of this year in
Maui and it is scheduled to air in January 2008.
TV Land Online is sending a camera crew
next weekend to do follow up interviews with the cast.
We will be at the game Friday night and
our 20 year reunion is Saturday night.
